PRE-FLOAT GUIDE
Floating is easy, and we want your experience to as great as possible. Here are a few tips to keep in mind before coming to your float session with us.
Before you arrive:
-
If it is your first float, try to arrive about 15 minutes before your session begins. We will walk you through the process so things go as smoothly as possible.
-
Don't eat a big meal prior or arrive hungry. You want to have a nicely settled stomach so everything is calm for the next 90 minutes. A light meal no sooner than 90 minutes prior to your session should be just about right.
-
Don't have any caffeine at least a couple hours prior to your float.
-
DO NOT arrive to your session under the influence of drugs or alcohol, you will not be permitted into the tank if our staff suspects this to be the case.
-
If possible, arrive for your float without heavy makeup, perfumes etc. as it will have to be washed off during your pre-float shower.
-
And finally, if you have not done so already, have a look at the incredible information presented in (at least in our opinion is) The Ultimate Guide to Floating document.
What to bring:
-
Any specialty toiletries you would normally require after a shower.
-
Try not to bring expectations of what you will experience during your float. Focus on calming your mind and settling into the environment, not waiting for something amazing to happen. It's typical for it to take a couple sessions before you are comfortable enough with the experience to truly start to let go.
-
No towels, we supply fresh towels for each session.
-
No bathing suit, you don't want anything distracting you during your float, this includes anything touching your skin. The float room has its own shower inside so there is 100% privacy during your session.
-
Comfortable clothing, you will be very relaxed after your session, make the most of it!
After you leave:
-
You can expect the post-float "glow" to last for a couple days or more, enjoy it and try to really stay aware of the changes you feel.
-
Residual salt, any stuborn cystalized epsom salts will simply rinse away with water and will not stain your clothing. You can also try vinegar as a rinse as it will disolve and neutralize any salt.
-
Know that we are looking forward to seeing you again and thank you for choosing OM!
